Meet the Team!
Lee-Ann Grenier is the owner of Lactopia Lactation Services. She is passionate about breastfeeding and community advocacy, and evidence based gentle parenting. Lee-Ann brings a decade of experience helping breastfeeding parents as a La Leche League leader, and 11.5 years of personal experience nursing her own three children. She is an avid life learner and loves spending time immersed in the world of lactation, especially tongue and lip ties!
Lee-Ann is a born leader who loves to teach and mentor others. She gained experience planning, organizing and attending conferences and workshops, before she started speaking at and facilitating them. Lee-Ann has been providing breastfeeding education to professionals for over a decade.
In addition to being a La Leche League leader, Lee-Ann is a Certified Lactation Counsellor, certified lactation educator, babywearing instructor (CBS), and elimination communication mentor.
Kelsey Voelker balances full time motherhood with her work as Lactopia’s junior consultant and breastfeeding consultant. She uses her impeccable organization skills to keep our educational events running smoothly. She is excited to be co-teaching pre-natal classes, and seeing clients in our clinic.
Kelsey is especially passionate about lactation work, inspired by her own struggles with breastfeeding her daughter. She wants to help prepare parents-to-be for what to expect with breastfeeding, and how to get the most out of their breastfeeding relationship. Kelsey assists new mother-baby dyads with the realities of breastfeeding in the days, weeks, and months following birth. She has just completed her Certified Lactation Educator training, is a Certified Lactation Counsellor (CLC) and aspires to be an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)
Kirsten Ziegler is excited to be working in the world of lactation as Lactopia’s service co-ordinator. She discovered a passion for breastfeeding support while studying Nutrition at the University of Alberta, and quickly immersed herself in the world of lactation and infant feeding. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology in 2013, and a BSc in Nutrition in 2015, and gave birth to her first child in 2016. Kirsten and her son struggled with breastfeeding initially, which further fueled her drive to learn more and to find ways to support others in their breastfeeding journeys. She completed her Certified Lactation Counsellor training in 2017, and hopes to pursue the IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) training in the future. Kirsten is expecting her second child this spring, and is looking forward to breastfeeding another baby!
